The Philadelphia Eagles poached the Detroit Lions practice squad by signing safety Jerome Couplin. Couplin, who signed with Detroit as an undrafted free agent, actually made the original 53 man roster. When injuries set in, Couplin became expendable and was released and added to the practice squad. Players on the practice squad are eligible to be signed by any team in the NFL so long as they are signed to the teams active roster. Couplin will be on the Eagles active roster, likely for the remainder of the season. Contract details are not yet known so whether the Eagles hold his rights next season or not is still in question.
