The Detroit Lions made a few transactions over the past few days. The major move was the trade of Michael Williams to the New England Patriots. The Lions made the move to pick up a 2017 seventh round pick in exchange for shipping Williams to the Patriots. Williams was in line to be the fourth tackle on the roster, but the pickup of Corey Robinson in the draft made Williams expendable. Martin Mayhew decided to pick up an additional pick for Williams so that they can allow Robinson the chance to make the team, and Williams had been a practice squad player prior to this season.
The other two moves were the placement of Kevin Snyder on injured reserve and the signing of Joe Madsen, a center.
