Just three days after the team waived him, Daryl Tapp has re-signed with the Detroit Lions. This move was not a major shock as there were some rumors that his release was temporary given Kyle Van Noy‘s status. The team lists Tapp as a defensive end currently, but it will be interesting to see where they play him. His is capable of playing defensive end and linebacker, and given the role Van Noy was slated to have, Tapp could squeeze in as a backup in that role. His signing was possible due to the designation of Kyle Van Noy to the short term injured reserve list.
