The Detroit Lions had an open roster spot after last night’s release of Jon Baldwin. To fill the spot, they turned to a familiar face in former Detroit Lion corner Drayton Florence. The team announced today that he was signed to a contract, likely a one year deal. He adds depth and competition to the position, but given how he played two years ago in Detroit, it is not likely that he is competing for more than a fourth or fifth corner spot at this point. Still, the former Carolina Panther has a wealth of experience and could fill a need should one of the young guys just not be up to the team’s standards.
