The Detroit Lions were active today. They started the morning off by restructuring the contract of Glover Quin which freed up about $2.2 million. The money raises Quin’s cap number, but lowers his base pay. It essentially gives him guaranteed money right now instead of spread out throughout the year.
The Lions then announced the signing of two veterans. The first is wide receiver Greg Salas. Salas is 6’2 210lbs but has bounced around the league. The second was corner Chris Owens. Owens has also bounced around the league in his short career. He likely will just compete for a roster spot, but his addition gives the Lions a chance to evaluate him should they need an injury fill in if he does not make the team.
