The Detroit Lions made room for Jerome Couplin on their practice squad by releasing wide receiver Patrick Edwards. The move was not expected as the team could have promoted Rodney Austin easily to create a spot for Couplin. Instead they chose to cut ties with Edwards, who was a surprise addition to the practice squad when he was added a few weeks ago.
They did officially sign Couplin in the announcement of Edwards’ release. Couplin is officially back with the Lions for now, and hopefully for the season.
