The Detroit Lions have announced that kicker Alex Henery has officially been released. This move was expected after he went 1 of 5 on field goals in two games. His miss from 51 yards in his first game was disregarded as he made his first attempt of the game from 50 yards. This past Sunday, though, was harder to ignore as he missed every field goal he attempted, three of them in total, from 44, 47, and 50. With the Lions losing by three, it is hard to discount that he cost them the football game against the Bills. The Lions wasted no time in releasing him and have scheduled workouts for kickers tomorrow. The full list of workouts will be updated on that link.
