The Detroit Lions made a pair of moves before the morning practice today. It was mentioned yesterday that Cory Greenwood may have suffered an injury in practice. Regardless of whether or not that is true, what is true is that the team released him from the 90 man roster today. To fill his spot, the Lions added defensive back Nate Ness. While Ness is likely just a camp body at this point, he still cannot be overlooked in competing for one of the open corner spots. The team did just add Drayton Florence making it very doubtful that Ness will make the team. With practice squad also a possibility, Ness does have something to work toward with the Lions. While he did participate in practice today, I doubt he will play tomorrow due to the short practice week.
