Detroit Lions interim general manager Sheldon White is doing all he can to earn the full time position. He announced in his press conference that it was his job to do whatever it took to win games. He also said he believed there were people out there on the street as well as in the organization that can help the team win. He began making moves today as he placed injured corner Rashean Mathis on injured reserve. He signed Crezdon Butler, a corner who was with the team in the pre-season, to the active roster to fill his spot.
White also waived James-Michael Johnson and promoted Isaiah Johnson from the practice squad. White likely thinks Johnson can help the team in the secondary and is making sure Johnson has an opportunity to try. I would expect another move soon to fill Isaiah Johnson‘s spot on the practice squad.
