The Detroit Lions suffered quite a few injuries leading them to their 16-15 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Most of those injuries occurred to the linebacking corps but some of them were to other key players. It was announced yesterday that the Lions were signing former New England receiver Aaron Dobson, but the corresponding move was not announced until this morning when it was revealed that running back Ameer Abdullah‘s foot injury is worse than expected, leading the team to place him on injured reserve. The Lions can pull one player off injured reserve without designating who that will be so it is possible he could return to action later this season, although with the depth issues at linebacker, there is a more likely chance that Jon Bostic returns from the injured reserve list than Abdullah does.
In addition to those moves, the Lions have signed running back George Winn and linebacker Zavier Gooden to their practice squad. Both players have been with the team in training camp and preseason. They released wide receiver Isaac Fruchete and guard Chase Farris
