The Detroit Lions made the expected move late last night and left wide receiver TJ Jones on the PUP list, essentially ending his season. The move was expected as the Lions are completely healthy at the receiver position and Jones has been away for too long to be able to contribute this season. He will likely begin training for next season and get into the play book so that he is ready to go next year.
Jones originally suffered a shoulder injury in OTAs and never recovered in time for the preseason. He was placed on the PUP list in the event that the team would be thin at receiver by the time he was healthy. Fortunately for the Lions, they have been healthy all season and do not need him this season.
