Detroit Lions Hire Rod Wood To Be Team President
|
The Detroit Lions have hired their new team president already. After firing former president Tom Lewand and general manager Martin Mayhew just 2 weeks ago, the Lions jumped to hire a new president in Rod Wood. Wood has served as the president of the Ford Estates for the past 8 years. While he is not from inside the organization, he is a Ford family employee making the hire a bit of a head scratcher. The Lions also announced that the new general manager will be hired by a Lions panel that is made up of Wood, Martha Ford, and her 4 children. The Fords did say that they will use the NFL’s advisory panel to assist with the search, but that the panel of Fords will make the final decision.
