The Detroit Lions have agreed to a contract extension with DeAndre Levy according to Ian Rapoport. The terms of Levy’s new deal have not been announced yet, but extending him and Haloti Ngata were the two priorities for the Lions. Locking down their best linebacker, and one of the best linebackers in the NFL, prior to the start of the season was a huge move for the Lions.
UPDATE: The deal is expected to be a 4 year extension worth $33.72 million, which is about 8.43 million per year. He also got $20 million in guaranteed money. The deal was expected to be much higher than that so the Lions really did well to get their star defensive player under contract for 4 more years at a very reasonable price.
