Detroit Lions Claim Corner Josh Thomas Off Waivers
|
Josh Thomas was claimed last night off waivers by the Detroit Lions to fill the roster spot vacated when they placed right tackle LaAdrian Waddle on injured reserve. Thomas, a 5th round pick in 2011, was waived by the New York Jets this past week. The Lions can always use depth at corner, and likely want a chance to evaluate what he can do, while using him immediately in the special teams. Thomas has prototypical size at 5 foot 11 and 185 pounds. He has bounced around the league so far due to not being good enough to stick. The Lions will likely take a long look at him now and decide on his future with the team depending on how he handles Teryl Austin’s system.
