The Detroit Lions apparently cannot make up their mind on whether or not to keep Jerrell Harris. Harris, who was cut yesterday, and I reported on it a few minutes ago, was re-signed to the practice squad. He was likely released to add a receiver to the practice squad, but when Jerome Couplin was signed away by the Eagles today, Harris’ roster spot was no longer needed so he was re-signed.
Couplin’s vacated practice squad spot was filled today by the signing of Skye Dawson. Dawson, a 5’9 receiver out of TCU, was signed as an undrafted free agent by Washington in 2013, but was later released by the team. Dawson also spent some time with Tampa Bay last year, contributing 2 catches and 2 rushes but fumbling as well. He will likely fill the role that TJ Jones was filling for the past few weeks before the team needed to make a move with him. It is difficult to see Dawson crack the active roster this season given the depth at receiver, therefore he is likely just a practice body.
