The Detroit Lions made several roster moves this week to fill needs at the practice squad position and the active roster. We highlighted one of the major moves already in the signing of George Winn to replace injured Zach Zenner. The Lions submitted a waiver claim for offensive lineman Michael Ola. To make room for his addition on the active roster, the Lions waived Taylor Boggs. Ola played for both Chicago and San Diego and adds depth to the offensive line.
On the practice squad, the Lions had two holes to fill after Jordan Mills was signed by the Bills. They added a running back and a wide receiver. The wide receiver, Ryan Spadola, was undrafted out of Lehigh. He spent time with the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, and Arizona Cardinals. The running back they added, Marion Grice, was a 6th round pick out of Arizona State. He spent time with the San Diego Chargers and the Arizona Cardinals, playing in 10 games with the Cardinals.
