Brandon Pettigrew Tears ACL Done For The Season

The Detroit Lions announced today that Brandon Pettigrew suffered a torn ACL and it will end his season.  Evaluations are still being done to determine if the team will add a blocking tight end to take his spot on the roster.  The injury to Pettigrew leaves only Tim Wright and Eric Ebron at tight end.  Both are pass catching tight ends and are not suited for run blocking as Pettigrew was.  I would guess the team will add either a blocking tight end or a hybrid tight end, offensive tackle with Michael Ola being beat up a bit.

I would expect in the next day or so to have an announcement with Pettigrew being placed on injured reserve and his replacement being signed.
